Shepherd’s Journey is a personal painting series. In it we follow a nameless shepherd on his journey through a fantasy landscape.

By doing this series I wanted to explore a slightly more Ghibli inspired vibe and style. I also wanted to challenge myself again by trying to finish 10 semi high quality pieces in October, whilst also doing other freelance work. I ended up doing 7 during the October streak, and 3 thereafter.

There is not necessarily a story behind the illustrations, though that is something I’m considering exploring. Whist I intended the painting to be illustrations, I did paint them (except one) in a 16:9 aspect ratio, so they could be considered backgrounds as well.
